How to play

Every move slides all the tiles as far as they go in one direction. When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one tile worth their total, and that total is added to your score. After each move a new 2 or 4 appears in an empty square. Make a 2048 tile to win, then keep going for a higher score. The game ends when the board is full and no two neighboring tiles match.

• Move: press the arrow keys (or W A S D), or swipe on the board.
• Tip: keep your biggest tile in one corner and build the row next to it in order, so big tiles stay together and don't block each other.
• Saved: your game and best score stay in this browser, so you can close the page and carry on later.
